Relationship issues

Relationship issues

I currently have a shoulder injury and am in chronic pain. I have to rely on my partner for help with things and I hate that I have to rely on him. I hate that he has to care for me. I am so frustrated that I am being so horrible towards him and he in turn is being horrible back to me. We are constantly in each other space and rarely spend time apart. I've become rather codependent on him and this in turn has taken away his independence. I love him so much and want to be with his but I am struggling to be able to let the little things go

Re: Relationship issues

Have you tried to sit down with him and talk about things? I know pain can make you say some pretty bad things, I've been there. But im sure that he doesn't mind doing things for you.

Re: Relationship issues

Hey.  I'm sorry you are in a lot of physical pain. People gerally react back if they feel unappreciated. Maybe explain your anger is because of your pain and it is causing you ti be less tolerant and that you are sorry if you take out unintentionally on him and that you appreciate him and everything he does.

Re: Relationship issues

@Tornup I'm sorry you're both going through this, You've already done the groundwork by identifying and acknowledging why things have become this way.

It can be hard to admit our weaknesses, even to our partners. What you've written here is exactly what you need to tell him, if he truly loves you he will understand and continue being supportive. Communication is key.
