That’s pretty much teenager speak @utopia. Teenagers grunt more than they talk to parents a lot of the time. My son is leaving for three weeks in Japan tomorrow. I messaged him, told him how excited I was for him, asked him if he had everything sorted and the response I got was “Yeah, all good.”
I know that with my daughter if I ask her how a movie was that she saw, her reply is more often than not - “Good.”
Give him a bit of time and ask him to show you some photos he might have taken on his phone. Use open ended questions that require more than a one word answer like What activity did you like the best? Tell me about an unusual food you ate? What was something funny that happened?
He’ll come around. Sometimes it’s not cool to be too excited about anything at that age. And now that he is a seasoned traveller, he is all grown up.

No thanks needed @Former-Member but very kind of you
I can only imagine the stress you are under and how hard it is for you seeing your D like this - and she is sooo lucky to have a mum like you. Whatever happens with the neurosurgeon we are here to support you - and listen whenever you need to talk (or just sit with you)

@Former-Member you are dealing with so much right now - let us support you - you do not have to give anything in return except letting us be here for you

@Former-Memberdo not be sorry hon, you are dealing with so much at the moment. Whatever I am going through I will always listen to you and your struggles because they matter.
I am sorry about what happened to your daughter today. She is so lucky to have such a caring and supportive mother. I hope you get some news soon and she can get whatever treatment she needs.
Hugs

It is give and take here @Former-Member - and sometimes we need to be on the taking end as you need right now. Don't even think about wanting to be here for us - all your time and energy needs to be with you and your daughter - and we want to support you without anything needed in return.... if the shoe was on the other foot I have no doubt you would do the same for either of us...
Hope I am not speaking out of turn here @Former-Member but I suspect you feel exactly the same towards @Former-Member as I do in this difficult time for her...!

@Zoe7couldn't have summed it up better.
We all go through our ups and downs. @Former-Member if talking here helps in the smallest way, then continue to do so
