rough time

Re: rough time

That sounds like a good plan to begin with @outlander and then hopefully a group can be found for you. I know the wait list for our group is pretty long - my pdoc got me in very quickly - apparently she has a fair bit of say in those matters lol

Doing DBT with a psychologist is a good start though - they can explain things to you and prepare you for a group situaion and we can be here to help you with things that you don't fully understand when you are doing the homewrok you would need to do. But it is essential that you have that support to help you get through all this irl - particularly because there are things that you may need to go through that you cannot do on here.

Do you want to start making some sort of plan for the next few days - I don't think you should look further than tomorrow and the weekend right now - and we can do another plan on Sunday for the upcoming week...whatchya think?

Re: rough time

Lovely to have your input here too @BlueBay Heart

Re: rough time

Hi @BlueBay
Thank you and your welcome to jump in anytime too. Yes your right it seems when you meantion BPD some seem to run from it 😕
Im not too sure if the psych ( ill hopefully be able to see ) runs group session or not that shes advertised but i find sometimes we dont know the full extent of their services until we get into see them.

Re: rough time

Lol @Zoe7 well im glad she has a say! My pdoc works part time in the hospital as well so im surprised she doesnt know of anything.
I guess starting anywhere would be helpful right now except trauma work.

Yes please, though i dont know where to start. Its hard to look past tonight tbh but a short term plan for now and the weekend sounds good to me

Re: rough time

The real positive outcome would be to find a psychologist thst you can click eith @outlander

ive been with my psychologist for msybe 5 months and she is a trauma therapist who treats BPD as well. We clicked from the start so I'm very lucky.

It's important to find a genuine caring therapist that really wants to help.

Re: rough time

I think the first place to start is to draw up a table - 4 columns - one for each day and the first column for times. After that break each column into 3 sections - morning afternoon and night... then we can start filling in all the things you have to do over the next three days and when you have to do them. After we do that we can start to work around when you fitin things just for yourself. @outlander I know you jave troublt sleeping but it is essential that you start you day at the same time each day i.e. 8 am and finish at the same time each night - this will begin to get you into a routine which may also help eventually with sleep

Re: rough time

@BlueBay is spot on there @outlander when you find someone you click with it can make all the difference

Re: rough time

I agree @BlueBay finding one to click with is so tricky esp when its truama things or matters that are long term. Im really glad you found one you click with!

Ok @Zoe7 i start the day at each time its just thr nights, my usual bedtime is 1ish and the more i lay there or fight it the worse it gets but 6 hrs ia still pretty good if i can get that amount..
Give me 2 seconds to grab some paper and pens. Brb

Re: rough time

Ok im back @Zoe7 @BlueBay and drawn up the 4 columns

Re: rough time

I remember you used to have an 11pm curfew for yourself for on here - maybe stick that back in as well as any other computer/screen based devices - that way you will be away from the screens of any kind - it is a proven fact that they are not good for sleep. @outlander
