Re: SUNDAY FUNDAY

It's Sunday Funday!

Taking time to reflect on small things that makes us smile or feel better.

December can be a busy month so preserving some time for self care and nourishment is extra important. I try to do this by saying 'no' to requests if I don't have the capacity for them (within reason!) and taking some extra time to cook a meal without rushing. Trying to be mindfull and enjoy the process of cooking food that nourishes my body rather than rushing to just 'get it done'.

Sunday can be a great day for preserving this time for yourself if you're not working and have some time off.

What can you do today to nourish yourself?

Re: SUNDAY FUNDAY

Hi @JellyBean, and @Former-Member, and everyone, finally found Sunday Thread, glad you're here thank you! I can't handle heavy topics atm but sure could do with the company so ...

My nourishing day has been to stay cool,
it's so hot at the moment. I'm catching up on my Saturday pamper dat where I tend to my nails and hair mostly and I think today might be a special day for soaking my feet. Haven't done that for so long.

I did get the backlog of dishes done (so I can move in my kitchen) and I just finished putting lovely marble print contact on an outside table that was weathered. It looks quite nice with the little rocks in the print.

Something more interesting, I found a little blue tongue lizard hiding underneath something and it looks very hungry and hot so I sacrificed a snail to him. Shocked me though, before I even got in the peep hole entrance he snapped the snail off me, nearly took my finger with him little blighter. They can really move when they want to blue tongues gosh. 🙂

Re: SUNDAY FUNDAY

Hi @JellyBean I love your name and the black jelly beans are the best!!!  🙂

I am preparing to get things organised at home and my bags packed for hospital.  I'm going in on Tuesday and I cannot wait; that may seem a terrible thing to say but this hospital stay is for me. Me alone and no one else. i won't have to worry about home, family, work - just rest and get psychological help.

I am knitting a baby jumper for a friend and later on I will paint my toe nails.

It is really hard to do something nice for myself; self care is not on my top of the list of jobs to do.

Re: SUNDAY FUNDAY

Thanks @BlueBay, I agree that black jelly beans are the best and love that you can buy a whole packet of them!

All the self nourishment things in this thread sound lovely...peaches and cream, a cup of tea, keeping cool, knitting baby jumpers, having a rest and a break or getting organised for the week ahead...I'd like to do all of them!
