Hi @Former-Member how are you? Hi @Former-Member too and thanks to both of you.
Leaving Darwin next Monday. This week I have the removalist, Vinnie's to take some of remaining furniture, tip runs, another couple of mates picking things up that they want, and lots of cleaning. Moving to a nearby motel on Tuesday as bed is going Wed to Vinnie's. Then my brother and his partner fly in Friday to help with the final cleaning weekend and we all drive my little car down from next Monday.

Wow @eth its not long now. I hope it is not too difficult. It sounds like a lot of work. Have you had much help getting this far?

No @Former-Member no help with the jobs at this end, sorting, packing, throwing heaps away, one load to Vinnie's already. Have been plugging away at it for over a month! My brother and his partner have been amazing tho'. They've helped a lot with costs and have also built a cabin for me at their place. I feel so grateful for that. I remember you had a big move when I first met you. Have you settled in now? How long since you moved?

@eth I moved in at the beginning of June. I've had lots of hassles but it is all looking good at the moment. we had no heater for winter, gas oven broke but got a new one and had to get a new toilet. I have yet to put up a shed, lay the flooring we bought, fix the fly screens and lots of cosmetic things but it feels like home now and generally worked out better than I expected. My son and his girlfriend renovated the garage into a nice room that they moved into. It has taken lots of time but after the first few months went by I relaxed a bit more and stopped stressing so much about everything that needed to be done. My family has helped out financially heaps to fix the major things. I'm sure you'll go through lots of phases before it feels like home.
