Re: Far and Away

We have a family occasion on today ... won't name it here though .... just our own family tho.  Have prep to do .... and didn't finish my shopping list yesterday, so back to the shops this afternoon.

Doesn't look like I will get to painting again today, but we'll see.

D3 is on sleep meds now, and goes for blood tests tomorrow .....

Re: Far and Away

I get it @Faith-and-Hope Smiley Happy

How is D3 doing on the sleep meds?

I am going to do something for you today then - I am going to paint - it may not be much because I still can't physically do much and for too long but I am going to add something special to 'Butterfly Girl' and I know you will love it - but shhhh - it's a secret - until I finish!

I have to go to the shop sometime today. I am going to try for the morning because I am usually far too tired and it is too cold later in the day. Then I am going to snuggle up with Toby late this afternoon and watch the footy (I believe my team may be playing your team!)

Still have the boxes ready to pack up the spare room (just in case it is needed Smiley LOL) !!!!!! Heart

Re: Far and Away

Oh @Zoe7 ..... I am soooo happy to hear that you intend to paint .... even just a little .... 🤗💚💐💕🎨🖼❣️

The night before last was the first night for D3 on the sleep med, and it seemed to help her a lot.  I haven't seen her yet this morning,  she won't be coming to church, so I will catch up with her afterwards.

"My" team haven't been doing very well apparently ..... there are enough followers in my vicinity for me to hear the reports .... lol .... but I am a live-game gal .... I find it hard to sit and watch a game on to, although my mum loved to ..... when she used to visit from the country she would sometimes take herself off to a live game.  I was up to my eyeballs in young children and couldn't join her then .... by the time I could, we had lost her ..... such is life .... but Ihave a beautiful memory of her embellishing a cap for her team before that sort of merchandise was as marketed and available as it is now .... shows how rapidly times have changed too ...

Enjoy that snuggle time with Toby ....

Wolf got hold of WH's jogging shoes last night.  He had left them out to dry, then forgotten to bring them in.  Wolf was so chuffed .... !!  I realised quickly, having seen him through the window, and quickly opened the door to retrieve them .... wolf thought he was so clever, gleefully showing off that he had them.  He doesn't like to surrender his prizes usually, but I could see that he knew he shouldn't have them, and came to play a gentle game of keepy-off with me at the front door, releasing the one he had easily and without damage.  I told him to go and bring me the other one, and he did the same with that .... so I gave him a chew-treat.  He was a really good boy about it, treating it like his own little joke .... so funny .....

The shoes would have been confetti by morning.  He still shreds his bed canvas every other night .... then he is sorry cos he is sleeping in the stone porch afterwards, so he behaves himself with the new canvas for a few days at least, before the temptation to demolish it becomes too much.

Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope It will only be a little but I am sure you will like it!

I a so pleased it is helping D3 - wish my sleep could be 'normal' arghhhh!!!

My team is still on the bottom of the ladder and are likely to stay there - but there are good signs for the future when the young kids have been together longer. I think the new coah (who is from Tassie and is a really great guy) is doing a wonderful job. There are two coaches of 2 AFL sides I know - one I worked with - both of them are really nice people.

My Nan bought me a hat to wear to the grandfinal that my local team at the time was playing in - that was over 30 years ago. We won the final but some horrid boy grabbed it off my head and ran away with it. I was devastated at the time - mainly because my Nan had bought it for me and I knew that she really couldn't afford to. But that is what my Nan did for me - she was definitely my best friend and the person I loved most in my whole life.

Wolf sounds just like Toby when he has been chasing Cat - he tries to put on his sad face as if to say 'she started it' but I know better lol He is very cute though and I can't tell him off because he gives me those big brown eyes and that is enough to make me smile Smiley Happy

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Faith-and-Hope

I'm glad D3 has sleeping medication and that so far it is working well for her - sorry she is missing church but then - hopefully she will feel a lot better when she is catching up with her sleep deficit

Your story about your dog and WH's golf shoes - it sounds really funny but I know it would not have been if WH had found out about it in the morning with his shoes in shreads - you call the dog Wolf - ah - they love leather - and you dog shreads his bed - try something else or make wolf-repellent to rub on any leather

This might give people a strange but not unpleasant smell but um - better than having things torn up by the dog who does think he's clever - yeah - my cat shreads any paper that might be on the floor - and tries to turn over the pages in a book - can make a mess doing that but otherwise harmless

Life is a puzzle for you Faith - I don't know how you do it - and with two of your kids battle and I read somewhere that D1 was giving you a bit of a hard time - the baby dragons attack - I get it

Sending more faith and hope and prayers

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Zoe7

I hope you get to the shop before the weather turns on you - and then you can manage a little time painting and then snuggle up with Toby to watch the footy

Which team do you follow? What kind of football

I actually don't get serious about the football - I went to a St Kilda and someone else's playing years ago and the match was close and I like St Kilda and did a lot of yelling and the woman next to me said

"Can't you keep your voice down?" - d'uh

I looked down my nose at her and said

"Lady - we are at the football - this is when and where we can release our verbal aggression"

And I went right on doing it - it was all about something else - not the football and I felt so much better afterwards

Of course - I always put a few units on the Melbourne Cup - I have had 6 wins in twelve years - wow - when my horse starts down the straight every in these units knows about it

I hope you have a better day today and here's today's clip art

It's amazing what I find to post there

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Owlunar Heart

I have been to the shop and now home with Toby asleep curled up on my lap (not so easy to type like this lol)

I follow the Lions - have all my life from the Fitzroy days!

Can't believe someone at the footy would ask you to keep your voice down - I could understand if you were at the tennis - but the football - really!!!

I do not like horse racing at all - which is strange in our family because my pop trained and rode horses and now my dad owns and trains then also. I am definitely the black sheep in our family (in more ways than one!!!)

I am too tired just at the moment to paint but hoping after a rest I'll have a bit more energy. I hate how much just a trip to the shop takes so much out of me!

I hope you have a good day Dec.

Sending you love and hugs....

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Zoe7

I am glad at least you got to the shops - and I do understand how you can be exhausted afterwards - I have trouble myself with back pain - it's usually okay to go to the local shops but not the supermarket nor the mall - people are unpredictable and I have been knocked over and needed the paramedics to come and get me back onto my feet - which is why I usually have company when I shop

Yes - I was told to keep my voice down at the football - I went there for a specific reason - it was a cold but sunny Saturday afternoon not long after my son died and my car accident left me with an arm in a sling and I was totally fed up - anything to get out of the house - and I was yelling at the game but I was releasing my anger at the same time - without bad language I must say - but yeah - who keeps quiet at the football - if a person want's quiet stay at home alone and read a boring book - yeah

I don't follow the horse-racing - I just feel it's "Australian to back the cup" - I used the same three numbers every year - my son-in-law goes to the TAB to back his horses so puts a few units on for me. I get wound up from that so better not to get into gambling -

Today I am planning to do some cooking - I am into crumbing some cutlets and making a salad - then if I still feel okay - the cookies - I had this feeling I was going to fall asleep yesterday so I didn't want to get into any cooking so I had a lie down and read - didn't nap - but then I did - and I never feel like eating or cooking or whatever after I have been asleep in a chair in front of the TV after that

I do hope you feel better later
