The Weekly Friday Feast

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

my kids still do that!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

hey @CheerBear My night is going along ok, its very cold here

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

There are a few of us here who still do that @lovemyboys haha!

It's very cold here tonight too, but warm inside thankfully 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Apart from one grumpy teenager we are having an ok night here, it has not been a fantastic day, mr 13 suspended from school, angry is an understatement

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Oops - looks like I'm late to the party again. When I was litttle we would have our ice cream in the cup that we used for water at dinner time - probably to save on dishes. We'd put a spoon of Milo in with it and stir like crazy to make our own version of soft serve. In those days, we didn't have all the amazing flavours you get now. It was pretty much vanilla, chocolate or neopolitan.

Has your son been misbehaving @lovemyboys  - oh no 😱. How long is the suspension for?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Just one day @soul Causing pain for his teachers with his disgusting attitude again good kid, but at school - biggest smartarse, don't feel like doing work today kid you'll ever meet, doesn't help that his friends find it funny

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I don't think a suspension is the best idea. A holiday from school - yippee! How are you doing? Have you had a reasonable week otherwise?

How is your older son doing? @lovemyboys

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thats what my son said, when they suspended him for 3 days. Then they had to work to get him back but did not succeed.  My son worked, but he surveyed student attitudes to authority.   He had only been at the school for 8 days.  Oh well Thats history for us.

I am sure your journey will different @lovemyboys

Glad things settled a bit.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@soul Thats exactly what I said, he thinks his day off on Monday will be great, asked me to put money on Myki card so he can go out for the day, are you kidding!? Not happening. In fact I questioned the school about it, as I work and his father is working, he can't come with either of us and I will not be leaving him home by himself in this instance. I asked if an in school suspension is possible and they said no. It seems more of a punishment for me than him as I will now have to maybe take a day off work and spend the whole day dealing with his attitude.
My oldest son is doing ok, thanks for checking in, he's alright, getting by ok.

@Appleblossom He is purely at school for the social aspect and when asked about what he will do when he fails his subjects this year he says "nothing matters until year 11 I'll try then, you can't fail year 8 anyway"
or "they can't make me do anything everyone there is annoying"
So we pay thousands of dollars to send our son to a private school for him to literally sit back with his feet up laughing and being a nuisence towards the kids doing the right thing.
When we had our meeting at school his ylc told us that he plays up in PE (which is strange as he is big on his sport), he will do things like move the equipment as the teacher is putting it down so everyone gets confused and the poor teacher gets frustrated, or tell kids they are doing it wrong and they suck. It is so unlike him.
I'm hoping when he realizes that with this behaviour means things will be taken away from him and he will miss out on things he does something about it.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Threaten to send him to the local public school. See how he likes that @lovemyboys. I'd be taking away some of his privileges - computer time, phone etc.

Glad things are looking up for your other son. Going to watch him play today?
