The Weekly Friday Feast

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

That's good @Shaz51. I'll sit here in the bushes eating wasabi chocolate and Japanese Nutella until then. 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

What, there's a Wasabi Chocolate?

Gee, I've goto try that...

Anything hot & spicy, even Chilli Chocolate...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

**hands @Adge a spoon** Come join me Adge, there's plenty to go around! The wasabi chocolate however you can have that, it's not my taste at all. Bleurgh!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Fair enough @Queenie I'm just curious, because I've never heard of Wasabi choc (didn't know there was any).

I might not like it either, but it's worth a try...

Which reminds me of when I first tried Hot English Mustard (as a teenager).

No one warned me, I smeared it all over my sandwich (thickly) - then I had steam coming out my nose (quite literally)...

We were not amused..

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I really like hot curries like a super spicy green curry or a hot vindaloo, but even I go sparse with the hot English mustard (and I like mustard)! I've never eaten Wasabi, but I imagine it's like fire judging from what I've seen on TV. I also saw a stunt where a man had a whole tube of Wasabi paste put on a piece of sushi and had to eat it. His eyes were bulging and watering!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

That sounds dramatic @Queenie That must have been hot...

I've had Wasabi in small doses, it tastes just like Hot English Mustard (to me)...

I love hot Thai Green (& Red) curries.

Although I once over-did it (too hot), & had tears running down my face (in the restaurant)...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I remember once a friend (who is of Indian descent) and I decided to make a vindaloo from scratch and make our own paste. The recipe called for 'vinegar' but we were unsure what type of vinegar and how much. So we added a tablespoon of malt vinegar for a two-person serving. Needless to say while it was spicy, it was VERY vinegary and tasted awful! Smiley LOL

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Queenie and @Adge and anyone else still around. Arrived late tonight. Doing some other things on the computer. We had spaghetti bol for dinner. I was going to make us tuna and mayonnaise sandwiches but C had already jumped in the kitchen wanting protein to help a little hangover from last night. It was delish. Also had apple and cinnamon hot cross buns at my friend's place today, yum, but one was enough for me.

I don't mind a bit of spice in food but mostly I tend to mild curries, for example. A tiny amount of wasabi on sushi is good, chilli is not really something I can really take much of. But it's nice to just put a tiny pinch in some foods for a bit of 'edge' to the food I think. But I'm not much of a cook at all.

I don't really do chocolate anymore, just don't have the taste for it, but happy that others take pleasure in it.

This is the kind of dessert I like, that I've posted before:
