Re: Through One's Eyes

Yay ... the image is up @Catcakes .... 😊

I have painted tree bark and ocean waves with a palette tool before ...... very satisfying ....

Re: Through One's Eyes

This was my first attempt @Faith-and-Hope

Re: Through One's Eyes

It looks great @Catcakes .... ❣️

I love the movement in the paint .... and the character in the mountains ..... and those flags positively vibrate with colour .....

I learned what a “Ruisdael sky” was a couple of weeks ago.  Jacob van Ruisdael, a painter from the Dutch Golden Age painted his skies as 2/3 of his landscape ..... with beautiful blue hues ..... and then piles of cumulus clouds.   You’ve got something of that going on there too .....

Its a beauty ....

Re: Through One's Eyes

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope.
I’ll have to look van Ruisdael up, I’m not familiar with his work.

Re: Through One's Eyes

It’s very classical work, as the painters from the newly formed Dutch Republic were, but there was a new freedom in painting for the merchant class rather than royalty and aristocracy, and everyday scenes were depicted as interesting subject matter.
