Re: Checking In

Hi Shaz51,   Think we are all trying to keep it together. Politicians not helping much.   My cats give me comfort ,talk to them a lot .lots of cuddles ,find they help to keep me level also playing bubble games on the phone or computer calms me down.   Gardening helps .watching lots of DVDs that I buy from second hand shops for 50c or $1 help pass the time away, go to the library and borrow DVDs.. .Occasionally will do a big cook up but find  we are not eating like we used too, changing our diet a bit because of price rises, mostly cut down on red meat ,mostly eating chicken and mince. Veggies getting very expensive also ,substituting with some tinned veggies...   .Only go out twice a week to collect our mail ,pay bills and shop.       Used to love garage sales on a Saturday morning but they are few and far between now.     Sometimes will go to GP Plus to do exercise , classes have been halved to 6 people.      We get our Flu needle in 2 weeks and our second booster next month , be glad when it is all over.     The war in Ukraine is getting to me ,feeling a bit down with the senseless killing..   Cant think of any other news.... Best wishes to you and all, keep well...@ jay2

Re: Checking In

@HenryX  How are you? Thank you for your post and thoughtful response. I am in a better place now, that I feel a bit better. Yes we can change our lives by looking at our beliefs (limiting beliefs). Different beliefs lead to a different life.

Over the weekend I am going to look at my treatment plan moving forward and write notes to take to my next appointment. My concerns about my treatment plan- things I like about it and things I don't like about it. What are my symptoms and what is the best way to treat those symptoms?

I am going to give the new Dr another few appointments before I make a decision because it takes time - for me to feel comfortable and also to get a sense for that person. But maybe my gut on this is right, I don't know. I could go through the treatment plan and the notes I make and see how he responds to me and the way he communicates to me.

I was going to ask him about me doing DBT because it may help me manage my anxiety better. That is something I really want to do.

Do you have any suggestions?

Re: Checking In

I'm alright i guess @oceangirl
Go back home today and probs gonna coach covid so will be in isolation
I think I have trained my body to be used to not having meds.
Need my space and need my life which has been deprived for too long during my 20s. But I also need to stop looking over the past 10 years and constantly have regrets or anger or resent. It's not a healthy attitude to adopt.
I need to understand why it's there.

In many respects I have had it good I life. But I feel like mental health wise I have struggled immensely.

There can only be better days ahead and the only way to get there is to acknowledge that as a fact. Going forward from here I see things working out so long as I keep a good mind. That's the hardest thing though.
While these battles are personal I do feel that people here can relate and sometimes that's all we need to keep going.

The past month has been beneficial for me - less human contact and more space physically.

I guess I will return to normal soon

Re: Checking In

Glad you are ok @MDT . Keep moving forward and spend less time looking in the rear view window. Enjoy your life and be kind to others and yourself.
