Riding a wave

Re: Riding a wave

I am so very grateful to be welcomed into the inner sanctum @Phoenix_Rising and @CheerBear. I could definitely do with some big safe feelings to counteract the unsafe ones that are pestering me. (Stupid brain.) 🙁

I hope you are both tucked up snuggly and sleeping soundly. May tomorrow (technically today) be kind to us all. 🌷

Re: Riding a wave

Good morning @Phoenix_Rising I hope the waiting place is feeling ok and that you get the yes or no you are hoping for 🙂 I was pondering the steps title thing a little this morning, and I don't think we need to have steps written. I looked again at the table of contents and it is definitely going to work without the need for "steps" (the "Finding your way in the adventure" is a great idea!). In the next little whenever while if you are able to, can you please let me know where you're at so I can work on where to go, too? No rush - turtle speed is working well for me too. This adventure is pretty epic, so please hand over if there are times you want or need to. We make a pretty great team I think 🙂

@Former-Member - Forumland helps me feel safe, which helps counteract the unsafe I can feel sometimes too. I hope you find the same thing, even it's in sitting quietly and knowing you're in the company of people who feel and have felt, their version of what you might be going through and who care. I am going to post an essay in the nest soonish, but before I did I wanted to let you know that if you did want to talk, or get a bucket, or sit on a cushion there, you are a bazillion percent welcome to whenever you want. It's been so helpful for me to know there's a safe space to do that, and I hope you can use whatever space feels like that for you too (post-essay posts or not Smiley Wink ) whenever you want to.

I too hope today is a kind one for everyone Smiley Happy

Good morning to anyone out on the ocean today. Smiley Happy

This is a bit of a quick flyby because I am finally getting back to my once-a-week volunteering gig today - the first time since (P) died. Thus I'm back to super busy Friday.

@CheerBear My waiting thing is no big deal. I was about to post a post last night and then just as I was going to press the button I thought "er...not totally sure" so I emailed it to get a second opinion. I'm sure some clever person will get back to me at some point. It super made me giggle when you pointed out that I am in the waiting place because I really am waiting around for a yes or no. Smiley LOL

Regarding the DBT adventure...

I was initially thinking that I would do the mindfulness "what" bit and then you could get started on the mindfulness "how" bit. That is, I was imagining us doing this adventure by alternating weeks. However, I was just looking at the manual and now I'm not so sure about that at all and I'm starting to wonder if we each need to do a complete module. So, for example, if I did mindfulness, then you could be working on the DT module, and then during the weeks that you were posting your posts on that, I could be working on the ER module. Then while I was posting my posts on the ER module, you could be working on the IE module. What do you think? I had it in my head that the teaching notes were set out week by week, but of course they aren't are they because the same notes are used across different schedules.

What do you think? Oh and if we did do it that way, I super don't mind which modules we each did.

Re: Riding a wave

Oooh good thinking re the modules @Phoenix_Rising. I'll ponder and get back to you. Thanks for letting me know 🙂

Hope today is a good one with the volunteering gig!

Re: Riding a wave

FF was a super fun distraction from my muddle tonight. I am struggling with being in the waiting place regarding TTT. It is now WEEKS since my turtle whisperer and I identified this particular psychologist as potential TTT and we aren't actually a single step closer to finding out anything about her. How the heck could the practice demand payment for her to speak with my turtle whisperer!!!!! Today I tried to make an appointment with my GP for Monday, but I can't get in to see her until Thursday. So right now I still have no idea whether I'm even going to get to first base with TTT. And now we are in November and rapidly heading towards the Christmas period when the world stops for weeks. The chances of me finding someone who can actually help me before my turtle whisperer bails on me next year seem very very tiny right now. Smiley Sad

Anyway, good night Forum Land. Night @Former-Member, night @CheerBear. I plan to stay out of Forum Land over the weekend, except perhaps to swing past DBT headquarters.

@Former-Member are you watching over the ocean tonight. I super missed you at FF. Did you fall asleep under your desk or something? Smiley Happy

Night.

Re: Riding a wave

See you on Monday (unless you pass by DBT HQ) @Phoenix_Rising. I miss you on the weekends but it's only two sleeps and I know you're always here even when you're not.

Hope you sleep well. Goodnight

Re: Riding a wave

ROFL @CheerBear. It is three sleeps, not two, until Monday. I see what you mean when you said that puffer fish has left you behind when it comes to maths. Smiley LOLSmiley LOLSmiley LOL

On the bright side, that makes tonight the eve of the eve of Monday eve. Smiley Very Happy

Good night my melted snowflakey banana head not-friend. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Riding a wave

Hahaha ok so maybe I meant two weekend sleeps until Monday @Phoenix_Rising? Or two sleeps not including tonight. Who knows lol. I'm laughing lots at that one though and at how much Puffer Fish would have said the same as you there. Total banana head 😛

I'll not disturb you from now 😉

Re: Riding a wave

Good night, @Phoenix_Rising. I wish I had eleventy million dollars so I could pay your turtle whisperer to work with you for as long as you need. I hope your weekend is okay (preferably better than okay). Thank you for being here for me, especially this week. 🌷 🐢

Re: Riding a wave

Hi @Phoenix_Rising. I thought I'd leave a note on the DBT desk for if you swing past it today.

I was just having a bit of a look/think about the schedule thing. I am thinking, seeing as we both seem to have an amazing magnet for attracting buses, how maybe we wing it for now and do it bit by bit like we are at the moment. If that means that we end up doing a module/step/week, each/both/together/not, it will still work. I can see the mindfulness "what" and "how" skills work together well, so it makes sense for the same one of us to write both of them. So if you're ok to be working on what are weeks 1 (the other part of week one I missed) and 2, then I will start working on week 3 of the book and we can see how we go from there. That gives us a bit of time to find our groove (or not). How does that sound?

Also, re the step names, I don't think we need to state that this is step 1, 2 etc. Maybe what we can do is continue using the headings in the left column of the schedule table (p.110 and 111) and if the week is too big or too much we split the bold and blue level 4 heading into the title with part 1 and part 2 etc and include that in the table of contents? Hope that makes sense Smiley Happy

I hope today is a good one for you. It's now only 2 sleeps until Monday, whichever way banana head decides to look at it. Oh, unless I don't include tonight and then it is only one sleep until Monday Smiley Tongue
