Books on personal experience with mental illness
Hi,
Not sure where to post this but I'm looking for good reads either biography or other books centred on personal experience with mental illness.
Has anyone got any books they've read that they'd like to share?
Thank you 🙂

Girl, Interrupted' is a good book. Way better than the movie.
I haven't really read any other books, other than a few local ones by some community organisations where I live. I'm not very good at reading so it's been a while since I picked up anything.

@Caringsoul73 'Tell me I'm Here' by Jane Deveson Australian author true life story of her son's Jonathon's descent into madness. Not for the faint hearted but a very good read.

"Out of the Forest" by Gregory P. Smith is a decent biography.
"Secret Squirrel Business" by Jenny Middlemiss is an intriguing how-to manual.

Re: Books on personal experience with mental illness
Hi, thanks for the book, one I haven't heard of and will definitely look into 🙂
A little tip if you don't already know, my husband used to listen to audio books on the train commuting to work sometimes. Whilst he loved actual books, it became handy in a crowded space listening to the book with earphones. Just an idea for you too. I thought there wouldn't be many but apparently there's heaps of audio books on offer these days to enjoy 😊

@Caringsoul73 It was my first introduction to schizophrenia. Very easy read. Thoroughly recommend it :Dx
