Hi @Maggie โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‹
I feel a wreck
Had an awful confrontation last night with family that turned up unexpectedly
Really knocked me
Somehow Iโ€™m going to have to get over it
Itโ€™s so exhausting
Are you ok today?
I love your flowers
Thanks for sharing. ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒบ

Re: Taking the plunge

I can see why you love being out in the garden @Maggie - your fushcias and corn flowers (did I get the latter right?), are just beautiful. I love the smell of mint!!! It freshens up everything. I use to have it around my garden on the farm - oh I so miss that garden (not the snakes lol). You are lucky with your 22 degrees - we had cool days like that for Christmas and Boxing Day but they were short lived. We will probably reach the 30s but it's the humidity that's the killer.

January and February I can only go into the garden early evening. Way too hot otherwise. You are so lucky - it brings back such good memories for me when I see your garden. Tears come to my eyes - it sounds corny, but that is how much my garden at the farm meant to me and your plants are just like it. I also had 200 roses that I lovingly pruned, fertilised and nurtured. People would come to visit just to see the garden. We have more native tropicals here as flowers/roses struggle. The trumpets are more temperate/sub tropical plants and originate from the rain forest. They can droop in the humidity and hot sun so need to be under another taller tree for dappled shade. They let off this divine scent in the evenings that perfume the entire house. They are just such a joy.

Unfortunately cant take them with me when I move as they don't fit within the landscaping of the golf resort we are moving to and the ocean salt spray may damage them. Such a shame, so enjoying them while I can. But I will have a small garden with lots of pot plants...

Glad to read you are getting back into cross stitching - it's so relaxing isn't it? We do have much in common.

I am still struggling with sleep - didn't get to sleep until 2:30am - up at 9:30 which is really too late. I still try and fit in a routine but it's frustrating. I really don't know how I keep going but I am, and at times with gusto, especially in the air conditioning lol. I feel it's important to stay active. When I lived on the farm I was always outside @Maggie in much cooler conditions down South, never had trouble sleeping - I much preferred the outdoors. It was a wonderful experience. I have everything crossed my next move will be also.

My daughter has gone back to work on light duties. She worked late afternoon till 10:00 pm last night and the club she works for head chef made her a vegetarian meal for free!!! Also a patron gave her 11 kiwi fruit - they are so sweet. They treat her so well - I am over the moon about that as she went through hell and back not long  ago (and took us with her). She keeps tagging me in Facebook saying how much she loves her mum and misses her. No one can now tell me miracles don't happen!!!! What a turn around. And I have managed to keep strong for her which is so important to me. I worry that my occasional issues may bring her down and that can be pressure at times on me but worth it to put on a brace front at times. Other times I am fine, especially at bingo :money_mouth_face: haha

Enjoy your day my friend - looking forward to seeing your cross stitch when completed too ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ’•

Hello @Former-Member - how are you holding up? I haven't seen many posts from you and was wondering. Thinking of you xx ๐Ÿ˜˜

Re: Taking the plunge

22C sounds nice. Electrical place seems to be shut this week so have to say re air con
My pots have survived the heat so far. Bit too much rain though. Hope the roots survive the soak. Itโ€™s lovely how youโ€™re doing your garden
I probably would garden more if weather wasnโ€™t so hot for most of the year. Winter is approx 20C perfect weather for me. I love our winters the most @Maggie

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Former-Member

Just read of your confrontation with a family member who turned up - how awful for you. Conflict leaves me feeling anxious for days....I could imagine your exhaustion. How are you holding up otherwise? Be kind to you today, perhaps doing something that you enjoy that can soothe the tension. Probably too hot for a beach walk? I can do that here when that lovely coastal breeze hits. Must run and do some vacuuming but will be back later. Sending a warm hug ๐Ÿค—

Re: Taking the plunge

I was like that yesterday @Former-Member Horrible isn't it.  I had no motivation and felt blah. My mood can dip at times. It's not good. It is great news with my daughter - I don't think any of us could of kept going the way it was. I hope things turn around for you too soon. I really must go now and vacuum - hubby is giving me hints lol. Hugs xx
