Re: All Things Sport...

Not happy with Channel 7 @Zoe7 @Former-Member @MDT

Last night there was a super over in the BBL.....I love super overs and I could not watch it because Channel 7 in their wisdom don't show all BBL matches................

So as have quoted before.........."not happy Jan".

If I could give them a big raspberry on this post then I would lol.

Anyway that is my sport rant for today...............very glad that the Sixers did end up beating the Thunder last night, and very happy my lads won the Test Match today too.

Very pleased with the Kiwi supporters though, making lots of noise and singing away....love that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also big thumbs Peter Siddle for a fab international career which he retired from today.  Thankfully we will still see him in the BB!!!

Also hoping my beloved Renegades can get their first win tonight...................

Re: All Things Sport...

I agree @Scarecrowe, Channel 7 have been very hit and miss when it comes to showing the BBL, same with the WBBL when that was on. Cannot blame you at all for being "not happy Jan".

Oh yes I was happy to hear that the Sixers won, even though I didnt actually see it. But from all the banging and shouting from hubby, I knew who won. I had been following score updates on my phone, but its not live.

I agree that the Kiwi supporters are a good bunch, and it was good to see the Black Caps walk over and show their appreciation after the match today.

I have to say that I was not impressed with Matthew Wade and his bad sportsmans antics when Southee got run out in a Kiwi mixup. Nothing to do with good play from Aussies, just a Kiwi mixup. I dont believe you should carry on like a jerk under such circumstances. Applaud and celebrate good play, but not bad luck from the opposition. Wade never stops chirping, and I dont like that.

I have been impressed with Wagner for the Kiwis, shows a lot of courage and skill ... a lion hearted effort from him in a badly losing team. And it was good to see their new opener Blundell get his century. I was disappointed not to see Starc or Cummins add to their wicket tally in the second innings. But it was a good effort from Pattinson.

Yes I agree about Pete Siddle, he has been a very good campaigner for Australia. Unfortunately for him, he has been somewhat of a fringe player for Aust, at a time where we have had some great bowlers. But he was solid and reliable always ... you could always count on him to work hard all day long if you asked him to.

And I see he is playing against your Renegades tonight Scarecrowe. Yes I hope they win for you. I may go into the other room and watch the match, as hubby doesnt want to watch it. At least it is on Free to Air tonight. We have a second tele, but it doesnt have Foxtel.

Hi @Zoe7 ... I read that you were watching the Test match for a while this afternoon. Hope you enjoyed it. I saw the first session this morning, or most of it before heading out for lunch. Then I saw it again from the last session to see the win.

Re: All Things Sport...

Agree @Former-Member  on everything you said in that post.  Wade can act like a so and so at times.  I think he has tickets on himself but that is just me.   And never stops chirping.  At least Paine's chirping is funny and entertaining and doesn't overstep the  mark.  Wagner is a work horse for sure, big heart love that.  And Blundell's ton was inspiring.  Loved the reaction from and crowd and yes I was pleased to see the Kiwi's go over and thank them for their support.

Siddle plays for the Strikers not the Renegades sadly, wish he did lol.

We needed that wicket but Salt is going off right now, we need him out badly.

Re: All Things Sport...

Yes @Scarecrowe I did make a quick edit to my post about Siddle playing for Renegades, but you were probably already responding by then.  Of course he is playing AGAINST them, as you pointed out.  He used to play for Renegades for years, before moving to Strikers last year.  Personally I still see him in the Red of Renegades.  Strikers have started with a flurry I see.  Hope the wicket pegs them back a bit.

True, I dont have a problem at all about good hearted and funny banter between players on the field.  Humour is even better and Paine is good at that.

Re: All Things Sport...

Yes @Former-Member  players in the BBL change around so much I get confused easily.  Like Cameron White and when Hodge was playing, so many teams lol.

Paine is so entertaining and lucky us he is a keeper so we can hear his banter on the stump mike lol.

Two wickets and Salt gone so that helps, now we need to Carey out as he can be dangerous as can Wells if they both get going.

Outfield very slow which is disappointing for a T20 game.

Re: All Things Sport...

Watching cricket too @Scarecrowe @Zoe7 @Former-Member

While playing poker on my phone ha ha

Re: All Things Sport...

@Scarecrowe @Former-Member @MDT Watching the cricket too fr a while but don't think I'll make it to the end of the match - taken meds early as my sister is picking me up early so we can get to the beach before the heat hits. ...so I will say goodnight now and goodluck for a Renegades win for you Scarecrow Smiley Very Happy
