Well as expected - Dad came down to 'help'. He tried to tell me what I already knew and I had to bite my tongue. The upshot is I have stopped digging as he is going to call a plumber. I can't say no because he wants to pay for it but it has taken the power away from me again. I know what a big job it is but it was MY job. I will get over it but just now I am not feeling great. Going to take some time to sit with this then hopefully get out into the garden later ...at least that I can do myself!

To respond or include more people @Former-Member you have to tag each one. Each thread will have the last few people that posed on the thread in the drop down box. Type in @ and you will see who they are and be able to click on that person. You have to do that for each person you tag. You can also find members by using the @ then starting to type their name.

Don't worry - the pool is not going anywhere. It has been raining all afternoon so will have to scoop water out again tomorrow. It is only supposed to be 7 degrees here tomorrow and 2 overnight so with any luck it will ice over tonight and I can just pull out chunks of ice lol - you may be able to go ice skating before your swim hahaha

Awww that sucks @Zoe7 , but I understand why you can’t tell him no.  It’s complicated, and sometimes the repercussions can be that the other person will take greater risks with the relationship you have with them than the relationship can sustain ….. or a whole bunch of other stuff can go down like skittles as a result ….. so you end up biting your tongue to save them from themselves and worse outcomes for you.

The result could very well have been him shouting at me, even throwing something if I had said anything @Faith-and-Hope He is usually not as bad with me as my Mum and sister but either way I wasn't going to risk that. He has called since and is not getting a plumber just yet instead he is going to get a drain snake and see if that makes any difference. I know the pipe needs replacing even if that does the job temporarily but now won't be doing it these holidays. I will have to fill the whole and put down a temporary walk way to the rest of the path.

I won't touch hot water cylinders @Eve7 ...it might be something as simple as a seal but there is electricity involved and I won't go near that.

Hi everyone I'm still having tech or personal ( ludit ) issues with the

forums.

However I do wish Zoe, I could skate on that pond. Sounds fun. Better than being a frog in the pond.

I'm pleased it will be easier to empty, in terms of just throwing out the chunks of ice.

I think I can see the possible problem @Former-Member - try not putting any commas in when you are tagging people and see if that works.
