You're a worry AB ๐Ÿค” sorry re accom if u weren't denying it

Re: Happy new year!

Thanks for reminding me @Former-Member Yes, online Party here tomorrow.

Must make sure to come along & have some fun (contribute).

That will be the full extent of my "New Year's Eve Partying" (coming on here).

No Face-To-Face Partying for me - I have not had any offers, & would not survive (energy-wise) staying up past Midnight (anyway).

Hi @Peri

@greenpea @Zoe7

Someone told me of a good way to "Cheat" Re: Midnight/ New Year's Day.

Watch Footage (eg TV or Pictures) of New Year's Celebrations or Fireworks shown at EDST (Sydney or Melbourne etc) at Midnight.

That will only be 9.00pm here (WA) tomorrow night - 3 hours behind, when East has DST (normally 2 hours behind).

Then I can Pretend that it's past Midnight & is New Year's Day - I can go to Bed at 9.05pm, & save myself the late night (or lack of sleep).

Sounds like a good idea....

Gee you're keen @Zoe7  wanting to stay up until 3am.  Hey @Adge  good to see you. How are your baby birds going? @Peri  is a West Aussie too. So the pair of you can be here partying until your new year arrives. ๐Ÿ˜€

Re: Happy new year!

I stay up every year for our WA family @Former-Member ...and have been known to stay up all night then head to the beach to see in the sunrise with Toby ...then sleep lol

Re: Happy new year!

My 5 baby Java Finches all made it to adulthood @Former-Member Which doesn't always happen with baby birds, so good to see.

My first batch of baby Javas in a few years, so it was exciting.

Their beaks are almost turned orange (from black) now, like their parents.

Many/ most Finch species (except Zebras & one or two others) need live insects to feed their babies (to raise any) - eg Termites, mealworms, fly maggots, etc.

Otherwise they don't raise any babies.

Getting insects (regularly) to feed finches is difficult, messy, & a pain in the B......t (I don't do it).

The Javas raised their baby Javas on Dry Egg & Biscuit Mix (I buy), which is so much easier.

That does not seem to work for my Canaries.

My Canaries only ever raised babies (over 10 years ago) - when I Boiled & crushed fresh egg for them every day.

Too much effort, & the crushed boiled egg goes rancid in the hot Summer weather - so no baby canaries.
