@ArraDreaming I was referred by member of another site. Was searching for help, support and to talk…. More than the other site was able to provide.
so thankful I joined SANE. The forums plus PGC have and are so helpful. Gained connections with people with whom I don’t have to pretend to be ok with all the time. As was said in another discussion … here people understand

Great question! In 2023 after my husband's diagnosis of comple-ptsd I went online searching for a support group for partners of people with cptsd. The Sane Forum popped up and I decided to post my first cry for help and support. I am so blessed to have the forum where I can be honest and have empathy and support. This is a wonderful community and I feel I have made some lovely connections and friendships.

@Shaz51 I remember how beautiful you are.......there are still others who started with me..... I can't think of the names atm.....sorry..... @Emelia8 ? @utopia ?
But after 3-5 years later..., I burnt out, screamed at the moderators and ran away for a few years...........
I have always been very impressed with Ann Devenson, the lady who wrote a book called "Wish I Were,' I think that the novel is called...
She wrote of her son's deterioration after he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. I had been married to Mr Buddha and looking at getting more support.....
Anyway, when she was alive, I think she started Sane Forums and these people called Cherry Bomb and Nic Nic and a man called Farazmi asked me to be a volunteer on Sane Forums.
Anyway...woo wee......People were writing that I was empathetic....people were writing back to me and were interested in ME. All those years, I had been ignored, you look at me and I look fine and I speak well but I became the head-injured woman......but my ex-husband knew me before the accident and after, we went to high school together......his high Iq,.... He knew and we discussed my issues.....
But in retrospect, maybe yesterday, I was writing to ..... @MJG017 I realised I wasn't caring for myself when I first started writing on Sane Forums. Nik Nik wrote once :
that she believed that intuition is more than anything that you can study in books.......but still, I didn't write about what was happening in MY life. How I was doing life. I wrote and wrote of the stress of being married to a schizophrenic.....hardly any support .....Ide can see there is more for him.

@ArraDreaming What an interesting thread!
I’d never heard of SANE before stumbling across it on a BPD Awareness Week postcard I collected from my BPD treatment clinic. This was during Mental Health Awareness Month many moons ago.
Each postcard had a different recovery quote on it. Back then, it was still named ‘SANE Australia’.
As I was catching the train back home, I searched up the website and I’ve never been off the forums since.
I then applied to be a Community Guide a few years later and I’ve never regretted it.
Ive still got my SANE Australia keep cup that I use.
I wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for SANE Forums.
Thank you SANE!

Thanks for the tag @Shaz51
I think I got the info from Lifeline - actually Sane and another website that wasn't for me - Sane is
As Dec and now Owlunar I have been here since 2016 - Easter that year - so 8.5 years
My life has changed a lot since then - I read here more than I write now - I used to be very active
It a good idea to ask such a question
