Something is very very wrong with me. I’m having almost constant visions of the ceiling shaking like there’s an earthquake and millions of little spiders crawling all over me. It looks like the floor is breathing and every surface is sentient/alive with a pulse and energy i can see electrical currents neurons firing particals moving i can control them and make them move. The voices are telling me that god has given me this power.
Thats what my thoughts are like at the moment, a constant rambling of nonconsequential mutterings about power particals and mind control. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist and am staying with my parents until this subsides until then I don’t know how to cope

Hello @beepboopyo and welcome to the forums
It sounds as though this would be pretty overwhelming and frightening to be experiencing. Have you ever experienced anything like this before?
It's good to hear that you're in a safe environment with your parents, and are scheduled to see your psychiatrist. If this has happened before, has your psychiatrist ever spoken to you about ways to manage when you're experiencing these visions and hearing voices? If not we can talk through a few techniques that could be helpful.
I'm glad that you've been able to reach out here, this is a safe space

Hi yes I have experienced this before, last time it lasted for months. Yes my psychiatrist is aware of this, we have not really discussed coping mechanisms forr it.

@beepboopyo while I haven't this experience myself, some strategies that might help in the short-term are grounding exercises and mindfulness to bring yourself into the present and try to focus on what you know to be true in that moment. Distraction can also help short term, or speaking about what you're currently experiencing to a loved one.
I'd love to hear from other members who might have had similar experiences on what has helped them.

Hi - this looks like the short of situation where you might have a plan with your psychiatrist to take rescue antipsychotic when you get those symptoms... If you can't wait to your appointment with the psychiatrist, you can see a GP and ask for rescue antipsychotic... Depending on what state they're in, sometimes they have access to a psychiatrist on a phone line if they need advice on helping you...
It sounds like you're doing the sensible thing, which is staying with your parents. There's a few therapists that could be helpful, I know of a mental health nurse with a private practice in my area who would probably be very helpful, but that's SA (humane psychology).
Low stimulation is the standard advice, so just staying home, not doing anything stressful, quiet environment...
It sounds scary, for you and your family, and that you're managing fantastically well thus far.
