@Shaz51 @Owlunar I think humans are way more complex than any set of diagnostic criteria can possibly describe. I also think the DSM is supposed to be more like 'guidelines for treatment' than a categorically perfect explanation of mental health. I also think that more often than not, it comes back to trauma - as well as a person's environment, upbringing, social and cultural context, and genetics. It's why two people with the exact same diagnoses can have vastly different experiences of mental health complexities. And also why treatment will be different for everyone too. It's a super complicated thing for sure.
