Hi again @SGde3a.

I can see how trying understand the intentions of a person/organsation etc may be important to consider.

Regarding DBT, my understanding is that DBT was created by Marsha Linehan as a result of her own experiences living with mental health challenges, specifically borderline personality disorder. She said in an interview “But I suppose it’s true that I developed a therapy that provides the things I needed for so many years and never got.”

There is a post by Phoenix_Rising a cpuple of pages in that goes into more detail about how and why DBT was created if you're interested in reading it 🙂
