@Former-Member What you read definitely fits with my experiences of public psychiatric wards. Having said that, the way you are treated in a psych ward does depend on your diagnosis. BPD is extremely heavily stigmatized - ESPECIALLY within the mental health system. Also, I recognise now that a lot of the behaviours I exhibit that resulted in that sort of bad stuff happening, are most likely the ASD more than the BPD, and the vast majority of mental health professionals have no idea about ASD (hence why it went undiagnosed despite 43 seperate psychiatric admissions!!!!).

Your situation is different and it is highly unlikely you would experience that sort of icky stuff. However, it is quite likely that you may witness other patients experiencing it, which I can imagine would be almost as traumatizing. Smiley Sad
