I'd love to know of any stories you have of couples reconciling after domestic violence. It seems that when I search online it is all just 'they never change'... Please share any advice or strategies you know of to help with this transition. I am obviously wary and have no idea how to navigate this. We have been doing so well and we don't want to do anything to jeopradise the progress we have made.
For context, he was emotionally and verbally abusive for 7 years, on and off. I have been on a break with my partner for nearly 6 months now. We have both done a lot of extensive amounts of therapy, have had strict boundaries in place, and have started to build trust again with him owning up to, acknowledging and apologising for the abuse. We are almost at the next phase which would be getting back together extremely slowly. I am having PTSD symptoms when very small conflicts arise. He has handled them well and implements his learnt strategies which has been great.
