Re: Riding a wave

@Phoenix_Rising btw - I love routine too little turtle and get completely thrown when the mods change their shifts - do not do change well at all !!!!!!!

I am completely on the same page with you on the time-frame for doing a little bit each week and this a 'week' taking at least 2 or 3 weeks (and this the 24 week schedule taking 12-18 months).

On the positive side - that means we have to 'stick around' for at least another 12-18 months lol

I am definitely in 'go-slow' mode (more like stopped and can't get going mode - but we can work on that). I also need to be completely directed by you @Phoenix_Rising and @CheerBear atm as I can't seem to work anything out for myself (which is ok because that means I am actually trustung others to help me out - which is a HUGE thing for me). So if you are both ok in giving me direction then I am more than happy to follow!!

Re: Riding a wave

@Zoe7 Yay we are on the same wavelength. You should be super excited about being on my wavelength...it's a very special wavelength you know. Smiley LOL

And you are correct - rule number 1 of the DBT adventure is that we have to "stick around" for the duration! Smiley Very Happy

So...maybe if @CheerBear or I aim to post the first bit on Monday and then you can super help us unpack whatever we come up with @Zoe7. I'm a bit scared of people feeling like this is a "private" conversation between CheerBear and I and thus being hesitant to join in. I super want people to feel they can share their thoughts on what does/doesn't make sense etc. My copy of the original DBT skills manual is covered with highlighting and question marks etc. I definitely don't pretend to "get" all this stuff and I am super hoping that other people are going to help me understand the bits I don't get.

Re: Riding a wave

@Phoenix_Rising I don't know whether I feel privileged or scared that I am on your 'wavelength' lol

I think between the 3 of us we have enough insight into most members on here that we coiuld specifically 'tag' into certain sections of the DBT adventure for input/thoughts etc. There are definitely a few that instantly come to mind that have 'skills' or experience that could be an asset along the way.

Maybe it is simply a matter of all of us (you, CB and myself) including people as we go and then continuing to 'spread the word' that this is an inclusive discussion where we seek/want/need wide ranging input.

@Zoe7 Well THAT'S weird...that's exactly what (K) said when I said the same thing to her. Smiley LOL

@Zoe7I am still a bit scared about tagging people into the DBT thread because I know it is likely to get heavy at times. But I also totally agree that it could be super cool. And you are right that there are Forumites who spring to mind, who I think it would be super to get input/thoughts from.

Maybe we need to seek some more guidance from the clever @NikNik or @Former-Member.

Sadly I now need to go and do some stuff here in the real world (so that I can then spend time DBT-ing later). Smiley Happy

The DBT meeting is now adjourned. If you see a little carebear named @CheerBear running around like an energizer bunny make sure you fill her in Zoe7. She is pretty easy to spot - she's the one with a melted snowflakey banana head. I have definitely added that term to my venacular!!! Smiley LOL

Re: Riding a wave

I will definitely inform CB of our meeting and direct her to read the 'minutes' of our meeting here @Phoenix_Rising Smiley Tongue

I do understand the reluctance to tag people into what can be a potentially difficult and/or triggering conversation but I also think we are 'smart enough' to be able to 'read' where someone is at and if it would be advisable (or not) to tag someone in. The alternative is to 'seek' that person out on another thread they are active on and ask if they have anything to add or feel like it is a conversation they could participate in - that way the choice is entirely theirs (just a thought on the run here...)

I hope your day is productive little turtle - catch ya later Smiley Very Happy

ps - I couldn't resist and have already started Bookish's bubble lol

Re: Riding a wave

@Phoenix_Rising @Former-Member Hope this is a comfortable bubble for you Bookish to travel to the underwater cave in.... lined with cushions and books as requested Smiley Very Happy

Re: Riding a wave

Hello @Phoenix_Rising. Hi @Zoe7. Hi anyone reading.

I missed the meeting (and haven't read beyond something about there being one) as I was on an adventure with a bunch of bigs to spend time with a bunch of tinies. It was an adventure I thought was next week so I am now practicing big breathing as I really have things to do and have to play catch up with the clock now. I've been mashing chalk, gluing with glue sticks and feeling very thankful that I have a quiet house to retreat to now (for a few hours at least).

The good thing about meeting in forumland is that there are pretty accurate minutes to read over 😉 which I will do at some stage when the ringing in my head from chalk mashing with rocks in metal bowls has stopped and the house is tidy. I would have really liked to have been able to be around this morning, as I am seriously keen on keeping on/starting the doing, just stuck on where to start and hoping for some guidance/ideas 🙂

I was also going to head past the nest and post a post I've been trying to post all morning. But that's going to have to wait now too.

I will be back when the house is ready for the inspection tomorrow (which I am writing as much for myself here as anyone). Yay for being able to come back to things here when life outside of here isn't such a circus :S

🙂

Re: Riding a wave

There is no rush @CheerBear - and that is pretty much what LT and I talked about in the 'meeting' - that there is absolutely no rush to get to the 'doing' and we can take time to 'do' each week - ie one week could be covered over several weeks. So rest up for now and read back over when you have more time and more 'brain space' (and maybe eat some gelato and licorice just because you can Smiley Very HappyHeart

Re: Riding a wave

Wow! This is by far the most amazing thing anyone has ever made me. I’m a bit teary even. Thank you so much, @Zoe7. You are so clever and an absolute star. ️ I feel much safer being under the ocean in such a comfy protective bubble-bookmobile. I love, love, love it. Thank you too, @Phoenix_Rising, for asking @Zoe7 to create my ocean-travel vehicle. 😊

Re: Riding a wave

I am so glad you like it @Former-Member Smiley Very Happy

I also need to add it into the underwater cave but I have to go to my appointment soon so I will do it when I return home Smiley Tongue

Enjoy floating around the ocean today in your bubble @Former-Member Heart
