Re: rough time

Yeah he is a bit like a SANE mascot @outlander - that is because his mummy loves him so much she wants to show him off all the time lol

Self-care is not just about doing things that interest you Hon - it is also about things like having a bath to relax, brushing your hair (I forget to do that some days without a routine lol), finding images you like on the computer, flipping through a magazine, baking a cake... can be anything - even sitting on your own outside and watching the world go by - it is all about doing something for a little bit of time where you don't have your phone or someone in your ear wanting something from you and you let your mind focus just on YOU.

Can we work out a list of self-care activities maybe to help you choose from that list each day

Re: rough time

Lol @Zoe7 im sure he loves you just as much too ❤

Ah yes the dreaded hair brushing. A struggle atm as i cant really use my hand 😕 still gets done most days though

Ok, a list might be helpful that way i can pick on the day as well. Not great organisational skills there but if the list and reminders are in front of me ill be inclined to do them and can do what suits me at the time..

Re: rough time

That is spot on @outlander - it is like a coping box but in list form - wtg You Smiley Happy

Re: rough time

Thanks @Zoe7
Would you have any suggestions at all?

Re: rough time

Hi @outlander @Zoe7

How are both of you this evening?

Re: rough time

I think a really simple one is colouring in - you don't need to draw anything but colouring in focuses your mind to the task at hand @outlander One I use is simply sitting in the garden (or at the door in the colder weather) and focussing on one spot. I am lucky enough to be able to see the mountain from my back yard so I often look at the mountain.

Maybe add in things like a nice warm bath, a cup of tea (or whatever you drink) - you can do thinks like laying on the ground and watching the stars in clearer weather or watching the clouds more lately lol

How about a theme to search for eg. blue flowers, red pands (you probably have done that already though lol)... and categorise them into folders on your computer for later reference....

Re: rough time

Hi @MDT I am doing ok but @outlander is being a star tonight Smiley Tongue

How are you travelling?

Re: rough time

Helloo @MDT

Im not sure about being a star @Zoe7 but this is helping

Ok so far the list-

--Art- drawing, painting ( ive found fluid art and also abstract art good atm) or colouring in.

--Reading a book

--Watching a movie

-- going to the beach just to watch the waves

-- a hot bath

--themed searches (hmm maybe a folder of things i find soothing would be helpful..)

-- listening to music while either laying down, or sitting outside

Re: rough time

--baking

-- hot cup of tea

Re: rough time

That is a wonderful list @outlander - that is enough for you to choose from for now - you can add things as you go and eventually you will use that list the same way you use other things in your coping box or on your safety plan.

I think you have been a start tonight and you have done a hell of a lot of work - wtg you - I am impressed Hon.

Now what are you going to do tomorrow?
